Apprenticeships are at the top of the Government’s skills development agenda. Taking an Apprentice, currently at no cost to you, will enable you to combine practical training for your employees, supporting them to gain valuable qualifications and support staff retention by upskilling your workforce. From next year the government is introducing the Apprenticeship levy which will be a levy on employers which can set against the cost of Apprenticeship training. Traineeships are like an extended job interview. They are designed to prepare young people aged 19-24 for the world of work and include employability, a Customer Service Level 2 Certificate, English, Maths and ICT (where needed) and a work placement of at least 100 hours where you as the employer are able to assess your placement employee’s suitability for work. No payment is required from the employer (although a contribution to subsistence is appreciated). We are constantly looking for work placement opportunities in all sectors.
